President Uhuru Kenyatta recently announced a cabinet reshuffle involving both Permanent Secretaries (PSs) and Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs).
In the latest changes, 8 PASs and 6 CASs were reshuffled. The President also made new CAS appointments.
What are The Latest Cabinet Changes Made By President Kenyatta?
In the Education Ministry, PS Dr. Belio Kipsang was moved to the State Department for Regional and Northern Corridor Development. Dr Juma Jwan was also appointed as the CAS State Department for Early Learning & Basic Education. Dr. Jwan was previously serving at the State Department for Vocational & Technical Training.
In his place, Margaret Mwakima will serve as PS State Department for Vocational & Technical Training.
Zack Kinuthia, previously CAS for Education, was appointed as CAS Ministry of Sports, Culture & Heritage. Hassan Noor took his place as Education CAS.
In other changes, Charles Talengo Sunkuli was removed as the PS State Department for Devolution. He was appointed PS State Department for Youth Affairs. Julius Korir took his place as PS State Department for Devolution.
Peter Kaberia was moved from the Sports Ministry to the State Department for Industrialization.
Changes in the Petroleum Ministry
In the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining, The State Department for Mining and the State Department for Petroleum were merged. Following the merger, Eng. John Mosonik, who was Chief Administrative Secretary under the same ministry has been rendered jobless.
Andrew Kamau is now the PS Petroleum and Mining.
New Appointments
The President also made fresh new appointments.
Dr Sara Ruto was appointed as CAS in the Ministry of Education.
In the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development, David Osiany took over as the PS.
Other appointments include:
Jackson Musyoka Kalla was appointed as the CAS Ministry of Labor & Social Protection.
Zachary Ayieko was appointed as the CAS Ministry of Energy.
Alex Mburi Mwiru was appointed as the CAS Ministry of Lands & Physical Planning.
Prof Japheth Ntiba Micheni was appointed as the CAS State Law Office & Department of Justice.
Lastly, Eric Simiyu Wafukho was appointed as CAS National Treasury and Planning.
