The arrested individuals are currently being interrogated by Police in order to establish the motive behind the attacks.

Nothing was stolen in all the incidents. However, the arsonists resorted to smearing feces on the walls of the church in all the churches they attacked.

Strange Attacks

In some of the churches, they drew images that locals described as weird and even satanic. The locals said they saw drawn images of a cross and 2 people beside it.

Weird right?

Interestingly, they specifically target the churches’ altars and set them on fire.

The arsonists have also torched a number of homes in the area, with the act occurring between 1am and 3am.

Leaders from the area have blamed the rowdy behavior on lack of parental concern and drug and alcohol abuse.

Kisii Central Deputy County Commissioner Mohammed Hussein earlier called on the locals to volunteer any information involving the perpetrators. He added that Police would increase surveillance in the area and arrest those involved in drug abuse.

“As a government we will are not going to rest, we shall not allow any form of terrorism to thrive in the villages,” said Hussein.

It will be very interesting to know what the motives of the attacks were as the sleuths find out more.

Do you think this was juju-motivated as some locals claim? Or is it just another case of kids gone wild like mentally unstable Lawrence Warunge? Let us know in the comments and keep it C.O.K for more updates on this story.
