Former Dortmund and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has been confirmed as Premier League side Chelsea’s new manager. This follows the exit of Frank Lampard, who took over from Maurizio Sarri back in 2019.

In the announcement, the club noted that Tuchel has signed an 18-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Tuchel expressed his excitement joining the club.
‘We all have the greatest respect for Frank Lampard’s work and the legacy he created at Chelsea. At the same time, I cannot wait to meet my new team and compete in the most exciting league in football. I am grateful to now be part of the Chelsea family – it feels amazing!’ He said.
Brief History On Lampard Performance
Lampard, a former Chelsea midfielder, holds the record of the club’s highest goal scorer. He was praised last season for leading the team to finish fourth. This is despite inheriting a squad that couldn’t be strengthened due to a transfer ban by FIFA, which was eventually lifted.
Fans felt that perhaps this season would see the club continue making gains, especially after the several signings made. The impact of the acquisitions would see Chelsea get a 17-match unbeaten run that had them qualify for the Champions League group stages.
The pace, however, slowed down in December, with only 2 league games won since their 5th December win over Leeds.
What Was Lampard’s Win Rate At Chelsea?
At the time of his dismissal, Lampard had the second worst win rate (51.3%) than any other Chelsea manager since Russian Billionaire Abramovic bought the club in June 2003. The Chelsea legend managed an average of 1.75 points per game.
Tuchel made his first training session last evening as the club prepared for their next Premier League clash against Wolves.

At Call Out Kenya, we are both scared and excited for Tuchel as Chelsea have a history of sacking managers, at least whenever the team form dips.
