Royal Media Services Fires Professor Hamo

Royal Media Services Fires Professor Hamo

Hot 96 breakfast show host Herman Gakobo Kago aka Professor Hamo has been fired from the station.

The station’s manager Cynthia Mwangi confirmed that Hamo has left the station, though remaining tight-lipped about the reasons for his departure.

“Hamo no longer works for the station. We, however, wish him the best in all his endeavors”

According to sources, the comedian had locked horns with his superiors at the station who had accused him of indiscipline. This is believed to have led to his sacking.

In contrast to this, other reports allege that the Morning Drive show co-host had quit from the station days before the expose involving fellow comedian Stella Bunei aka Jemutai Chipambe.

Who Has Replaced Hamo?

Professor Hamo’s position at the station has been taken over by Clyde Katiba. Clyde will co-host the Morning Drive SHow with Jeff Koinange.

In August 2020, Professor Hamo was set to move from the station to Mediamax-owned Milele FM. However, this didn’t come to pass as he was reportedly offered another contract by Hot 96.

The news comes after an expose where the comedian-turned-radio presenter was accused of being a deadbeat dad. Yesterday, 11th May, Jemutai hinted in a post that Prof. Hamo was indeed the biological father of their children.

Professor Hamo’s exit also comes days after we reported the exit of popular Kiss FM host Linda Nyangweso. Linda had been at the station for over a decade prior to her exit.

Do you think Prof Hamo was indeed fired? Did he quit in order to join another station?
