Mugithi Legend Mighty Salim Dead

Celebrated Mugithi musician Mighty Salim has passed on. Sadly, this happened a day after he had hosted a memorial service for his brother, Salim Junior, who passed away 5 years ago.

According to his family, Salim was diagnosed with diabetes back in 2003. His condition worsened in 2018 when he was diagnosed with kidney failure.

In 2018, Salim made a medical appeal of Ksh. 2.5 million that he needed for surgery and dialysis. He said that the condition had left him abandoned by both friends and politicians that he had associated with.

Salim revealed that he was getting treatment twice a week at Kenol Hospital at a cost of Ksh. 18,000. The family could hardly afford this.

Thereafter Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria helped in settling the bills. He assisted in Salim getting treatment at the Karen Hospital.

Fans and personalities poured out their condolences.

Mighty Salim will be remembered as a legend in the Mugithi music industry. He passed on on the evening of Sunday, January 24th. His death follows the sad demise of Mugithi legend John De Mathew who perished in a grisly Road accident along Thika road in August 2019.
