Yap, you read it right, after 7 years of marriage Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are calling it quits.
Kim, 40, is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 4 kids. This is according to American celebrity news site TMZ, who first broke the news.
The divorce is set to be an amicable one as both Kim and Kanye are reportedly alright with co-parenting. However, Kanye is yet to give a comment on the reports.
The couple got married in a flashy wedding in Italy in May 2014.

Kim and Kanye’s marriage has been on the rocks, more specifically since last year (2020).

Weeks later, the controversial rapper broke down during his presidential campaign launch. He revealed that at some point the couple had considered terminating their first pregnancy.

Kanye was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Kim stood by him regardless.
“He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words sometimes do not align with his intentions,”
she said.
Kanye would later congratulate his wife following the successful $200 Million sale of her brand to Coty.

A month later, pictures of the couple arguing surfaced online.
For Kim’s birthday on October, 30th, Kanye surprised her with a hologram of her late father Robert Kardashian. Kim was elated by the gesture.

Looking at these recent gestures some would have guessed that maybe the couple had settled any issues they had. However, some would say they saw it coming. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, but at least the divorce is being settled amicably.
Kim and Kanye join the long list of unsuccessful Hollywood marriages with this set to be Kim Kardashian’s third divorce.
