The announcement was shared by his party’s spokesperson Mr. Joel Ssenyonyi and was confirmed by his lawyer George Musisi.

Bobi Wine has been under house arrest since the 15th of January after the country’s general election.
In the just concluded polls, the country’s long time leader President Yoweri Museveni was announced as the winner. This was preceded by a violent electoral campaign period that saw several people lose their lives.
Tension with Museveni
The popular 38 year old musician turned politician is seen to have rattled Museveni’s feathers. Museveni has in previous elections mobilized security forces to suppress his opposition, and it wasn’t any different this round. However the intensity of force used this time was at a level never seen before.
For the first time, a presidential candidate in Uganda wore a bulletproof vest while campaigning as he feared for his life. Yes, it was really intense!
Speaking to Reuters, Bobi Wine’s lawyer Musisi added that his right to personal liberty should immediately be reinstated, according to the judgement.
Following up on the ruling, Bobi Wine shared on Twitter that the forces are yet to cease guarding his premises.
The High Court ruled this morning that my continued house arrest (11 days now) is illegal & unconstitutional. Several hours later, the military still surrounds my home, blocking access to all! Perhaps (as always) waiting for Gen. Museveni's orders on the next course of action.
