Businessman Chris Kirubi has passed on. The news was confirmed by his family and through Capital FM

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr Christopher J. Kirubi (1941-2021) who passed away today, Monday the 14th of June, 2021 at 1pm at his home after a long battle with cancer fought with fortitude, grace and courage. He was surrounded by his family.

Also known as DJ CK, Kirubi has passed on after a long illness.

Kirubi’s family confirms that he died after a long battle with cancer.

Was Chris Kirubi Sick?

Yes, Chris Kirubi was battling Colon Cancer. In 2018, Kirubi sought treatment in Boston where he underwent treatment for the disease.

How Rich Was Chris Kirubi?

According to a 2016 Forbes ranking, Kirubi’s net worth was estimated to be over $220 million (Ksh. 22 billion). Kirubi is best known as the director of Centum Investments Limited, which owns the Two Rivers Mall. However, his business conglomerate also includes, and is not limited to, Haco-Tiger brands, and Capital Media Group.

He also had interests in Bayer East Africa Ltd, Sidian Bank, SMEP, Rea Vipingo, Tatu City, Kenya Airways.

Brief History of Chris Kirubi

Born in 1941 from a poor family in Murang’a, Kirubi was orphaned at a young age. While still schooling he would work to support himself and his siblings His first job after graduating was as a salesman. He sold and repaired gas cylinders for Shell.
