Detectives have apprehended 3 criminals who were planning attacks on motorists along the Nairobi Southern bypass. The news was shared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on their Twitter page.
According to the police report, 2 of the suspects aged 25 years were apprehended by police in Langata. The two are Brian Mwangi and Nickson Muchiri. The third suspect, a 15 year old, had fled to Ngong forest while unsuccessfully trying to evade arrest.
While carrying out the operation, 2 motorbikes that are believed to be used by the crooks were also impounded.
Increasing Attacks
This latest operation follows a similar one carried out on Wednesday 26th, May. In the earlier operation, police officers flushed out 6 criminals from the Ngong forest. The criminals had attacked a motorist and his 3 year old son along the southern bypass
Tom Onyango, the motorist, had travelled from Nakuru with his son before they stopped over to answer a call of nature. They were then attacked by the gang of 6. Mr. Onyango would later report the incident at the Langata Police Station.
A manhunt for the suspects would then be launched and arrests were made after Mr. Onyango and his son confirmed the identities of 3 of the suspects.
Following the latest spate of incidents, authorities are calling on members of the public to share any information relating to the same.
